Mathilde Brun

Swedish-Norwegian soprano Mathilde Brun began her musical journey as a cellist in Sweden before discovering her passion for singing while studying music at Young Harris College in the United States. Her vocal artistry has since taken her across Europe and the UK, performing as both a soloist and ensemble singer.

Mathilde has appeared as soprano soloist in Fauré’s Requiem in Blairsville, Georgia and at Durham University, as well as in Mozart’s Requiem at Young Harris College. Recent highlights include her performance of Dvořák’s “Song to the Moon” with Durham Palatinate Orchestra at Durham Cathedral, and Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn’s “Hero und Leander” with Durham Classical Ensemble at St Oswald’s Church.

Her operatic roles include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (2022), Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (2021), and Mrs Noye in Noye’s Fludde (2019), all with Durham Opera Ensemble. She also performed in the soprano chorus for Eugene Onegin (2020).

Mathilde graduated with honours from Durham University in 2022, specialising in opera performanceand working with Janet Briggs. Prior to her studies in the UK, she trained for five years at Stockholm Opera Center, studying voice with Bengt Nordfors and Anna Elisa Lindqvist.

 

Mathilde is available for chorus or soloist opportunities in the UK and Europe.
